This is a popular street food dish from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is very easy to make, flavorful, tempting and made with green bell pepper, onion ,cheese and spices. Mostly it is done in hand toaster. But you can make in tawa or electric sandwich toaster too.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Ghughra sandwich:
- For stuffing:
- 2 finely chopped capsicum or green bell pepper
- 2 finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- 2-3 crushed green chilies
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon chat masala
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Other ingredients:
- 6 bread slices
- Butter as required
- Processed cheese as required
- For green chutney:
- 100 g coriander leaves
- 2-3 green chilies
- 2-3 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger piece
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 slice bread
- 2 tablespoon roasted bengal gram
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Steps to make Ghughra sandwich
- In a mixing bowl take chopped bell pepper, onion, coriander leaves and crushed green chilies. Add salt, chat masala, chili flakes and black pepper powder. Mix well. Stuffing is ready

- Grind all ingredients for chutney in mixer grinder with required amount of water. Chutney is ready.

- Take three slices of bread. Apply green chutney on them. Spread stuffing on two slices. Apply grated cheese on it. Sprinkle some chat masala and chilli flakes.


- Put one slice on other and cover with third slice which we apply only chutney. Press gently.

- Now apply butter on one side. Put in hand toaster (butter side down). Apply butter on other side too. Close the toaster and keep on flame. cook both side until golden and crisp from outside. You can check in between by opening the toaster.

- Cut into pieces. Enjoy super delicious ghughra sandwich. Serve with tomato ketchup and chutney.
